The island of Krakatoa is located in Indonesia.  The Island it self is currently uninhabited but effects of previous eruptions have been felt in the surrounding areas.  In the 1883, the island of Krakatoa was almost twice as big as it is now, eruption pryoclastic flows( see critical thinking)  burned villages on the island.  The effects of the ash can be felt world wide.  After the 1883 eruptuion, the tempture of the world dropped 1.2 degrees celcius.  The 1883 eruption was heard as far away as Austrailia.  Now the island is inhabited only by scienicests who work for the goverment, monitoring the volcano.  Even though no one lives on the island, tsunamis as a result of eruptions have hit other places in Indonesia (see impacts and safety).  The coast's of the places where the tsunami hit were submerged and do not exist today.  Even though there are no residents on the island, there are tourism groups that travel there.
